Welcome to Saint Louis University

Let us be the first to congratulate you. You're on your way to becoming a Billiken! If you will be attending our main campus in St. Louis, Missouri, read on. If you are attending SLU-Madrid, review information for our students in Spain.

What's Next?

Here are your next steps

Step One: Get Started in mySLU

The mySLU portal serves as a comprehensive online resource for our admitted students. As a new Billiken, you can use mySLU to apply for housing and see important due dates.

  1. You will log in to your mySLU account using your SLU Net ID and SLU Net ID password. You can find your SLU Net ID, Banner ID and instructions on creating a temporary SLU Net ID password in your Billiken Gateway portal. 1818 students: If you've previously logged in to mySLU or paid for classes, use the same password.
  2. Follow these step-by-step instructions to set up your Okta multi-factor authentication.

Need help? ITS is available by phone weekdays at 314-977-4000.

Step Two: Confirm Your Enrollment

Don’t let College Decision Day stress you out. As May 1 approaches and you weigh your college options, know that your Saint Louis University admission counselor is here to make things easier for you, and help you through the enrollment and financial aid processes. Please contact your admission counselor if you have any questions or need assistance with your deposit. We’re here for you, and we have a community of Billikens that can’t wait to welcome you home.

To confirm your enrollment at SLU, you’ll need to pay an enrollment deposit. (For SLU-Madrid students, this is called a confirmation fee.) This secures your place in the freshman class and should be submitted when you have decided to attend SLU. If you decide not to attend SLU, you will forfeit your enrollment deposit.

Step Three: Complete All Your mySLU To-Dos

Once you've logged into mySLU, you can:

Tell Us Your Housing Preferences

  • Housing contracts can be viewed and completed through mySLU. You must first submit your enrollment deposit. You will receive access to the contract after your deposit has been processed (24-48 hours). Interested in theme housing? Complete your Learning Community or theme housing application. Your residence hall placement is based on your Learning Community.

Get Ready for SLU 101

  • Register for SLU 101 Orientation.
  • Students currently living overseas are not required to attend SLU 101 Orientation.

Complete Course Placement Materials

  • Make sure to complete your course placement materials as soon as possible.
    • You will have access to the Course Placement site in Canvas after submitting your deposit.  It can take up to 48 hours before you have access to all the tests within Canvas.
    • Test scores are used to create your first semester schedule, so it is important to complete them soon and to do your best.
    • You have the option of re-taking your math and chemistry tests if you don't test into the appropriate level the first time.
    • Visit the Course Placement page for more details.

Stay in Touch

  • SLU Email: Be sure to log in to your address regularly for important reminders and updates from us. Select the Microsoft Office 365 Mail app in mySLU.
  • If you applied to SLU using your high school email address, please contact your admission counselor before your high school email account becomes inactive (by May 15) with an alternative email address.
  • Go to Google Play or the Apple App store and search for "Navigate Student." Once the app is installed, search for "Saint Louis University" and use your SLU login credentials to get started.
    • Additionally, you may use the desktop version by clicking on the EAB Navigate Student icon on MySLU Tools, or go to This app allows you to make appointments, shares key dates and events on campus, and provides other great resources. Learn more about Navigate here.

Get Your SLU ID

  • Submit your photo for your SLU ID. Be on the lookout for an email, sent to your SLU email account, in late spring that will share information on how to submit your photo online for your SLU ID. View SLU ID photo guidelines.

Health To-Dos

  • Submit required immunization and screening records to SLU’s vaccine portal before the Aug.1 deadline.
  • SLU’s vaccine portal will take you step-by-step through submitting your required immunizations and screenings and allow you the opportunity to load health records so that you may reference the portal for any other program-specific requirements during your time at SLU. Visit the Student Health Center page for more information.

Step Four: Review Financial Aid

Invest in Your Future

Saint Louis University is now receiving FAFSA data and releasing official financial aid offers!

  • Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
    • SLU code: 002506
  • Check your email — personal and/or SLU email address — for a message from SLU Student Financial Services. You will find your personalized URL in this message to view your financial aid offer.
  • Accept the terms and conditions of your financial aid offer.
  • Accept or decline your financial aid offer.
  • Complete your Master Promissory Note if you accepted loans.
  • Make arrangements to pay your final account balance. First payment is due Aug. 3
